Because of the worldwide influence of the Coronavirus spreading, the spring semester started late for us. Instead of starting at the beginning of April, it started at the beginning of May. However, since the declaration of the nationwide state of emergency was announced at the very end of April, before it happened I was able to go to Hanamiyama mountain with my exchange student friends and my sister. Before I came to Japan I had decided that I had to go flower viewing at least once, so visiting Hanamiyama was something I thought of as an absolute must. That's why I am truly glad I went, despite the circumstances. On the mountain, wherever you'd look you would be able to see trees blooming beautifully. It was a scenery I have never seen before, like something straight out of an illustration book. When we were climbing the mountain, as we walked up the path, we were able to see a lot of different kinds of peach, plum, and cherry blossoms. Usually, there are a lot of visitors on the mountain during the season, but this year because of the virus there weren't a lot of them, so we could climb the mountain at our own pace and appreciate the beauty of nature dyed in various shades of pink and yellow. The biggest pity was that it was something we could only see during April. If i ever return to Fukushima city, I would want to once again go visit Hanamiyama.
