面白い話です。私たちの先生、ウィリアム先生の授業で福島のプロモーションについてのICL授業があって、私たちのグループはサクラ・プロジェクトの10周年記念のビデオを作ることにしました。そして、優勝しました！二等賞だけど、勝ったんです！そこで、私たちは2日間の日程で福島の沿岸部に行って、イベントのセレモニーに参加して、翌日には桜の木の植樹に参加しました。素敵な経験でしたし、私たちのビデオが入賞できたことを本当に誇りに思っています。
2月に日帰りで福島第一原子力発電所に行ってきました。今まで、人が行って見学できるなんて思ってもみなかったし、自分が発電所を見学する機会があるなんて、ほとんど考えたことがありませんでした。とても魅力的なツアーで、少し心配もしましたが、安全だと言ってもらえました。爆発した発電所の光景は非現実的で、福島の人々にとってこの大惨事がどれほどひどいものであったかを想像することができます。本当に行ってよかったと思います。
大学が企画した会津若松への2日間の旅行に参加しました。私はここが今まで見た福島の中で最も美しいところだと思いました。大内宿は古い木造家屋のある本当に素敵な村で、鶴ヶ城では抹茶を飲むこともできて、温泉のある美しいホテルに泊まることができました。
3月中旬、ちょうど桜の季節が始まった頃、大切な友人2人が私たちを残して国に帰る前に、最後の楽しい休暇を一緒に過ごそうと、ほとんどの友人たちと東京に出かけました。一緒にご飯を食べたり、ゲームセンターに行ったり、東京の街を歩いたり・・・2人を空港まで送り届け、別れを告げるまでの最後の数日間を、一緒に過ごすことができました。友人を送り出した後、何人かで横浜に行って、海を見たり、鎌倉を訪れたりしました！8月に両親が訪ねてくるときには、私も連れて行こうと思いました。
福島には、花見山やさくら公園など、美しい花見スポットがいっぱいあります。晴れた日に、到着したばかりの新入生と一緒に散歩やピクニックに行きました。福島の美しさを知ってもらいたかったのですが、それは成功したと思います。
留学生活も、もう半分が過ぎてしまったので、ちょっと寂しい気もしますが、これからの数ヶ月、まだまだ素晴らしい経験を積んでいきたいと思います！

Interesting story. We had an ICL class with our teacher, William about promoting Fukushima and our group decided to make a video for the Sakura Project's 10th anniversary. And we won! Second prize, but we won! So we had a two days long trip to the coastal area of Fukushima to attend the ceremony for the event, and the next day we took part in planting sakura trees. It was a nice experience and we are really proud of our video.
We went to the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant for a one day trip in February. I never thought people can go and visit it before and mostly never thought that I will ever have the opportunity to visit the Power Plant. It was a fascinating tour and although I was a bit worried they reassured be that it's safe to go there. The sight of the exploded power plants felt unreal and I can only imagine how bad the whole catastrophe was to the people of Fukushima. I'm really glad I had a chance to go there.
The university organised a two days long trip to Aizu-Wakamatsu and I think this was the most beautiful part of Fukushima I've seen so far. We got to see Ouchi-juku, a really nice village with old wooden houses, the Tsuruga castle, where we could also drink green tea, and we stayed at a beautiful hotel which had an onsen as well.
In the middle of March - when sakura season just started - most of us went to Tokyo to have a final fun vacation together before two of our dear friends had to leave us and go back to their countries. We ate dinner together, went to an arcade, walked around Tokyo... it was a great way to spend our final days together before we escorted them to the airport and said goodbye. It's never gonna be the same without them.
After sending our friends off some of us went to Yokohama to see the ocean and we also visited Kamakura, which was one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been to: lots of shrines and temples with gorgeous nature! I decided to take my parents there as well when they come to visit me in August.
Fukushima also has beautiful flower seeing spots, e.g. Hanamiyama and the Sakura Park. We went there for a walk and a picnic on a sunny day with the new students who just arrived. We wanted to show them how beautiful Fukushima is and I think we succeeded.
I feel kind of sad, because half of my time here already passed, but I hope I still can have a lot of awesome experiences in the next months!
