Cherry Blossom

I arrived in Tokyo on March 26th, right in the middle of cherry blossom season. It was amazing to see the beautiful sakura in Ueno Park and along the Meguro River at night. But to my surprise the best cherry blossom experience happened in Fukushima, at Hanamiyama. The colors were so bright and vibrant, with pink, purple, and yellow blossoms everywhere. I went there three times because I couldn't get enough! It was a peaceful place, not as crowded as Tokyo, and I went there to relax and felt at peace.as.jpg

Golden Week

Golden Week is a special time in Japan when people have a long vacation because of many holidays in a row. They celebrate important events and enjoy time off with family and friends. So, during that week, we decided to explore the Tohoku region. We got a JR Tohoku pass, which made it super easy and comfortable to travel by Shinkansen every day. We were so enthusiastic and made the most out of those five days. We visited Yamagata, a place surrounded by breathtaking mountains. The other day we went all the way up to Hirosaki in the Aomori prefecture and to our surprise, there were still cherry blossoms there! We visited the Hirosaki Castle, an amazing Memorial Garden and especially the mountains we're very impressive to me. Lastly, we made it to Ashikaga Flower Park just in time to see the mesmerizing wisteria in purple and white colors. I won't lie, it was exhausting, but every moment was worth it, and I'll cherish those memories forever.

Fukushima University

My time at Fukushima University has been incredible. Right from the start, I felt at home because the other students were so friendly and welcoming. The teachers also made an effort to create a warm and comfortable environment. The university is only a 10-minute train ride from Fukushima Station and is surrounded by beautiful mountains and nature. It's so nice to take breaks between classes or grab lunch while enjoying the scenery. Oh, and I have to tell you about the school cafeteria! The food there is healthy, delicious, and doesn't cost much. I'm really enjoying my classes, especially the Japanese lessons. I have six hours a week, and I can definitely see my progress. Time has flown by, and I can't believe I only have one month left. In this month, I will return to Tokyo for a nice weekend. I have been to Tokyo for 5 times now and I can't get enough of this city. Every time I am excited to explore another neighborhood and try different café's.
