Thanks to the cooperation of my university and Fukushima University I got an incredible opportunity to become a part of Japan for half a year!
Studying at Fukushima University is a great chance to enjoy all the delights of the rising sun country and improve my English, Japanese, and communication skills, broaden my horizons and learn more about Japanese history, as well as to make friends and work in a team.
I can spend every day here very useful and enjoy the magnificent views of the majestic mountains, blue rivers, Japanese cuisine and other features of Japan which are different for everyone in their own way.
I arrived at the end of March, during the cherry blossom season. It is no secret that it is one of the most beautiful landscapes in the whole world! I was very impressed and glad I could see it with my own eyes. In Fukushima there is the beautiful Hanamiyama Park, which fully introduced me to the colors of springtime Japan. During my three months here, I managed to visit cities like Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Sendai, and Koriyama. It was amazing! So many unforgettable experiences, interesting events, sights, and people. But in Fukushima Prefecture there's also a lot of places that are just as exciting. Like Aizuwakamtsu Castle or Lake Inawashiro. I'll never forget the emotions I experienced there.
Studying at Fukushima University is very interesting and lively. Teachers approach the process responsibly, trying to diversify lectures with interactivity. There is also a personal approach to each student, which is a definite plus. English lectures include both international and Japanese students, so it's a great chance to make friends and socialize with native speakers! There are opportunities to participate in traditional Japanese activities such as rice planting, fireworks festival, and Onsen visits while you study. There are also many opportunities to go on seasonal excursions to the beach, to the mountains, and to other cities or destinations, together with other international students. This can be either as a trip from the university or as an individual student initiative.
The big plus for me is the fact of separate accommodation, with private bathroom, refrigerator and kitchenette. It is very practical and pleasant, because sometimes you want to spend time alone in studying the language or just resting. And rest is exactly what you need, because your days will be exciting and eventful, bringing a lot of positive emotions. I'm very happy to be here, Fukushima and Japan brought me extremely positive emotions, I'm grateful to everyone who took part!
